Veneers + Finishes + Moss

We Use Repurposed Exotic Hardwood Drum Set Drops and Veneers

Our exotic hardwoods and veneers were originally hand crafted for a specific purpose: Custom drum sets for musicians across the globe who wanted a unique look and sound. We transformed this purpose into decor for eco-conscious customers who want a unique product, inside and out.

Each circular wooden shell  has varied veneer and ply configurations centering around maple, Philippine mahogany, walnut, African mahogany, oak and waterfall bubinga.

Also referred to as Philippine mahogany, luan originates from the rare luan tree in the South Pacific. This wood type has a unique, distinctive "smooth" wavy grain pattern, making it the top candidate for light and dark stains. Natural finishes also pair well for installation on darker colored walls.

Recommended variation: Whitewash Maple Stain

A favorite for mirrors, maple is a fine, tight-grained wood typically used in furniture construction. Its natural consistent grain pattern is much more subtle than many other hardwoods. The reddish color of the grain allows for a deep, beautiful final product to warm any room in your home.

Many musical instrument manufacturers also use Mahogany in the construction of drums, guitars and pianos because it produces a clean acoustic tone.

Veneer oak refers to a decorative, thin wood piece, usually 5 millimeters in density, that is often used as an alternative to solid oak. Veneer has become popular very quickly because it often gives a similar finish as solid oak.

Another extreme rarity, walnut is our darkest hued wood type, best showcased with it's natural wood grain. We recommend these shells for bold mirrors or intricate designs to accentuate the bold grains.

Also known as ribbon striped mahogany wood veneer, it will accept stains and finishes well which accentuate the ribbon stripe figure. Ribbon stripe African mahogany is a very rich and formal veneer choice, stained or left natural

Biophilic Moss from The Fat Plant Society

The Fat Plant Society creates designs with zero meitenance, real moss that reduces noise and absorbes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the air while improving air quality. As a biophilic design element, moss is ideal for windowless conference rooms, basements, bathrooms, and other "light challenged" spaces because it does not require a natural light source. Unlike living plant walls, moss does not require watering or misting.
